About My Blog
Hello, British food lovers (however few and far between). My name is Audrey and I am the creator of this blog, A Very British Catalog of Food and Cooking. As a half Brit living in America, I have always held a deep fondness for British food, culture, and traditions. Growing up with half of my extended family living in Britain, I paid frequent visits to the United Kingdom and spent a substantial amount of time immersed in its culture. I also possess a great interest in world history as well as a love for cooking and baking. I created this blog to provide an engaging and informative insight into the history of traditional British dishes. Looking at the roots of British culinary history paints a compelling picture of the social, cultural, political and even geographic landscape of the country as it has evolved over the past 1000 years. For many, British cooking invokes bleak images of excesses of mash, lakes of gravy, and an unfortunate fondness for beans, however, a closer look at the scope of British cuisine reveals a much richer picture of an ever-changing country and its populace.
